The short answer
We install, remove and repair wallcoverings in Gulf Stream homes, roughly 14 miles north of Pompano Beach. Our focus is careful handling of designer, natural-fiber and mural papers in a salty, humid coastal setting.
Gulf Stream is a small Palm Beach County town roughly 14 miles up the coast from our Pompano Beach base. Homes here tend to be designed with care, and the owners who call us usually already have a paper in mind: a hand-printed floral for a guest room, a woven grasscloth for a study, or a scenic mural for a dining room. Our role is to get that material onto the wall cleanly and make it last in an oceanside climate that is hard on anything organic.
Specialty Papers Need Patient Hands
Designer wallcoverings rarely forgive shortcuts. Grasscloth shows every color shift between panels, so we lay out the strips in order and check them in daylight before trimming. Hand-screened papers can bleed if paste touches the face. Murals arrive as numbered panels that must line up across corners and around windows. We read the manufacturer's instructions for each product, because the right paste, the right booking time and the right seam technique change from one maker to the next.
If you are working with an interior designer, we are glad to talk directly with them about layout, pattern placement and where the first drop should land so the motif centers on a fireplace or bed wall.
Delivery and storage matter too. We ask that rolls stay indoors in a cool room until install day rather than in a hot garage, because heat and humidity can curl the edges or affect the backing before it ever reaches the wall.
Salt, Sun and Sea Air Inside the House
Living this close to the Atlantic means salt in the air and strong sunlight through big windows. Over time, sun can fade delicate inks and natural fibers, and salt-laden humidity can find its way into wall cavities on the ocean-facing side of a home. When we survey a room, we note which walls take direct afternoon light and which might be holding moisture, and we talk through whether a lightfast or vinyl-backed option makes more sense there.
South Florida's wet season runs from May through October, and the hurricane season stretches from June 1 to November 30. Many Gulf Stream owners prefer to schedule bigger projects for the drier months. Others like to have work done while they are away for the summer. Either way works, as long as the air conditioning stays on and the house holds a steady temperature while the adhesive cures.

Taking Down What Came Before
Older wallcoverings in coastal homes are sometimes harder to remove than they look. Paste can harden over the years, and paper hung directly on unprimed drywall can tear the paper face of the board when pulled. We test a small area first, then choose between steaming, scoring or soaking. Any torn drywall gets sealed and skimmed so the new paper has a smooth, even base. Skipping that step is the most common reason a fresh install shows ridges or bubbles a few months later.
Removal is also a chance to find out what is happening behind the paper. Dark spots, soft drywall or a musty smell can point to a slow leak from a window, a roof valve or an air handler closet. When we find something like that, we stop, show you, and recommend having it addressed before new material goes up. Covering a damp wall with expensive paper only hides the problem for a while.
What We Can Do in Your Gulf Stream Home
Beyond full rooms, we handle smaller details that finish a space: a papered ceiling in a powder room, a bold accent behind a bar, or a peel and stick update for a guest suite. Vinyl wallcovering is available for laundry rooms, mudrooms and kitchens where splashes and cleaning are routine. For owners of small offices or commercial spaces nearby, we also install commercial-grade wallcoverings.
