About Creative Wallpaper Installer

Creative Wallpaper Installer hangs, strips and repairs wallcoverings for households in Pompano Beach and the towns that ring it, from the condo towers along the Intracoastal to the block ranch homes west of Dixie Highway. Our view of the trade is simple: paper looks only as good as the surface under it, and in a coastal climate the surface needs more attention than most people expect. This page explains how a project with us actually runs, so you know what to expect before anyone opens a roll.

Why the wall comes first

Much of the housing stock around Pompano Beach is concrete block finished with plaster or skim-coated drywall. Those walls can hide hairline cracks, old nail pops, glossy enamel from a previous owner, or patches where a tile backsplash once sat. Any of that will telegraph through a thin paper within weeks. So before we talk patterns, we look closely at the substrate, run a hand across it under raking light, and check for moisture near exterior walls and windows.

When the wall needs work, we say so plainly and explain why. Sometimes that means a skim coat and sanding; sometimes it is only a spot repair and a coat of wallcovering primer. The goal is a sound, evenly sealed surface that lets the adhesive grip and still allows the paper to come down cleanly years later.

Working with the local climate

Our region never really has a dry season. From May through October the air is heavy and wet, afternoon storms roll through, and air conditioning runs nearly nonstop. Closer to the ocean, salt air adds another variable. Paper and paste react to all of this, so we acclimate materials indoors, keep the AC steady during and after installation, and pick adhesives suited to the product and the room.

We also plan around hurricane season, which runs from June through November. If a storm is approaching, we would rather reschedule than leave a half-finished room in a house that may lose power and climate control.

  • Rolls rest in the conditioned room before hanging
  • Exterior walls get a moisture check before priming
  • Bathrooms and kitchens get products rated for humidity
  • We ask you to keep the AC running while paste cures

How a visit runs

We start by listening: what the room is used for, how much light it gets, and what you have in mind. Then we measure, note the pattern repeat on your chosen paper, and walk you through the prep we expect. On install day we protect floors and furniture, work seam by seam with the pattern aligned to the most visible sightline, and clean up paste residue as we go. Before we leave, we walk the room together so you can point out anything you want looked at again.

What to expect

How a visit goes

  1. Clear scope before work begins

After measuring and checking the walls, we explain what prep is needed, how many rolls to order and how long the job should take.

  2. Patterns that line up

We plan seam placement around windows, doors and corners so repeats stay aligned from one strip to the next across the whole room.

  3. Respect for your home

Drop cloths go down first, paste is wiped off trim as we go, and we leave the room ready to use at the end of each day.

Ready to talk about your walls?

Tell us which room you are thinking about, where you live and what paper you have in mind. We will set up a visit to measure and look at the surface.
