The short answer
We install, remove and repair wallpaper throughout Delray Beach, in ZIP codes 33444, 33445 and 33483, about 11 miles north of Pompano Beach. Planning the job around Florida's wet and dry seasons and your own schedule helps the finished walls last.
Delray Beach is about 11 miles north of our Pompano Beach shop, in Palm Beach County, and we work across its three ZIP codes: 33444, 33445 and 33483. Homes here run from coastal condos and cottages near the water to block houses and newer developments to the west. One thing many Delray homeowners have in common is a schedule shaped by the seasons. Some live here full time and want work done before family visits over the holidays; others spend summers up north and want the house finished while they are away or the moment they return. Timing affects wallpaper more than most people expect, so this page is laid out by season.
November through April: the drier months
This is the stretch most people think of as the comfortable season, and it is also when many part-time residents are in town. Lower humidity means primers and skim coats dry faster, and it is easier to keep a house at steady conditions with windows closed and the AC on a moderate setting.
Because so many people want work done during these months, calendars fill. If you are aiming to have a dining room or guest suite finished before a particular date, it helps to reach out early, measure, and order paper well ahead. Some designer papers and custom murals take weeks to arrive, and the clock on your project really starts when the rolls are in hand.
May through October: heat, rain and humidity
The wet season brings thick air and near-daily afternoon storms. That does not rule out wallpaper, but it does change how we work. Paper should sit in the room for a day before hanging so it adjusts to indoor conditions. Drying times for wall repairs stretch out, so prep-heavy jobs need more days on the calendar.
If you leave Delray for the summer, please do not shut the air conditioning off completely. A closed, hot, humid house is hard on everything inside it, including new wallcoverings and the paste behind them. A steady thermostat setting protects the walls while you are away.
- Keep the AC running at a consistent temperature year-round
- Run bathroom exhaust fans during and after showers
- Choose vinyl or coated papers for rooms that get damp
- Allow extra drying days for skim coats and patches in summer
June 1 to November 30: hurricane season
Hurricane season overlaps with most of the wet season and runs into late fall. We schedule normally during these months, but if a storm is forecast we move the date rather than work in a home that may lose power or need shutters installed. After a storm, check walls near windows and doors for any sign of water intrusion before planning new paper; a wall that took on moisture needs to dry out and be inspected first.
Late summer and early fall can be a quieter window for interior work, since many seasonal residents have not yet come back. If your schedule is flexible, booking in those weeks often means more choice of dates. The key is keeping a little slack in the plan so a passing storm only shifts the job by a few days instead of pushing it past the date you had in mind.
Working while you are away
For seasonal owners, coordinating a job remotely is common. You can send photos and measurements to start, approve samples by mail, and arrange access through a neighbor, a property manager or a lockbox. We keep you updated with photos as the work moves along, from removal and repair to the finished walls.
If your home is in a condo building, the association may have rules about contractor access, especially when the owner is not present. We will follow whatever process the building requires.
Before you leave, it helps to clear the rooms we will work in, or at least pull furniture toward the center, and take down mirrors, shelves and window treatments. If that is not possible, tell us in advance so we can plan the extra time.
What we can do in your Delray Beach home
Our services cover the full scope of a wallpaper project. That includes wallpaper removal and wall preparation and repair, followed by installation of standard papers, grasscloth, vinyl wallcovering and peel and stick products. We also hang murals, design accent walls, paper ceilings, and install commercial wallcoverings in offices, shops and restaurants.
Coastal homes east of the main roads see more salt air, so walls near doors and windows are cleaned and sealed before anything is hung. Inland homes often have sprayed texture that may need skimming smooth. Either way, the prep is part of the plan from the start. We also regularly serve Highland Beach, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach and Lighthouse Point.
