The short answer
Yes, we install and remove wallpaper in Briny Breezes, about 15 miles north of Pompano Beach. Because the town sits right on the coast, we prepare walls for salt air and humidity and recommend materials that tolerate both.
Briny Breezes is a small oceanside town in Palm Beach County, roughly 15 miles up the coast from our Pompano Beach base. In a town this compact, most trades come in from neighboring cities, and wallpaper work is no exception. We make the drive for projects large and small, from one papered powder room to a full refresh of a seasonal home. Living this close to the ocean changes how walls behave, and that is the focus of this page: what salt, sun and humidity do to wallcoverings, and how we plan around them.
What ocean air does to interior walls
Salt travels. Every time a door opens on a breezy day, a little of it comes inside and settles on surfaces closest to the opening. Over months it can leave a faint film on painted drywall, and paste does not grip well over that film. Before we hang anything near an entry door or slider, the wall is cleaned, allowed to dry fully and sealed with a primer made for wallcoverings.
Metal is the other concern. Window frames, older door hardware and outlet boxes near the coast sometimes rust, and rust bleeds through light-colored paper as brown spots. We look for it on the first visit and treat it so it does not show up months after the job.
Making compact rooms feel designed
Smaller homes are actually well suited to wallpaper. A bold pattern on one wall gives a modest room a focal point, and a soft, light print across all four walls can make a space feel calmer and more finished than flat paint. Paper on a ceiling draws the eye up, which helps a low room feel taller.
In tight spaces, every seam is close to eye level, so precision matters more than in a large living room. We plan the layout so the pattern is centered on the main wall and the least visible seam lands in a back corner or behind a door.
- Accent walls that give a small living area a clear focal point
- Ceiling wallpaper to add height and character to bedrooms and baths
- Peel and stick options for seasonal residents who like to change the look
- Grasscloth for texture, placed away from wet areas and direct sea spray
Choosing materials for a home on the water
Not every product we hang is right for a coastal house. Vinyl wallcovering and coated papers handle humidity and cleaning well, which makes them a solid choice for kitchens, baths and laundry areas. Natural grasscloth looks beautiful but absorbs moisture and can stain if splashed, so it belongs in a dry bedroom or living space rather than near a sink.
Strong Florida sunlight is another factor. Rooms facing the water often get intense afternoon light, and some inks fade faster than others. When you send us the product you are considering, we will tell you plainly whether it suits the room or whether a more durable option would serve you better.
Timing around the seasons
Many coastal homeowners spend part of the year elsewhere. If you are away during the hot, wet months from May through October, the AC settings in an empty house affect how walls and paper react when you return. We suggest keeping the air running at a steady temperature rather than shutting it off, and scheduling installation after the house has been at normal living conditions for a few days.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30. If you plan to have work done before you leave for the summer or right after you return in fall, booking ahead lets us work around storm forecasts without rushing.
Removal, repair and the rest of what we do
If an older wallcovering is peeling at the seams or has bubbled from moisture, we remove it, inspect the drywall underneath and repair what needs fixing before the new material goes up. That prep is often the longest part of a coastal job, and it is the part that decides how long the new paper lasts.
Beyond homes, we also handle commercial wallcovering for small offices and shops, plus mural installation. Our crews regularly work in neighboring Highland Beach, Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach and Lighthouse Point, so scheduling a visit up the coast is routine for us.
